Shredder is the Ninja Turtles' enemy. He constantly harrasses the Turtles and has been fighting with them for a long time.
Shredder was originally known as Oroku Saki before he became the Ninja Master of the Foot Clan. Oroku Saki was once a student
of Hamato Yoshi until Oroku believed he could overthrow Hamato as Master Ninja, and he did. Today Oroku still carries out
his fighting as Shredder.
In Original Cartoon/Movies/Archie Comics Continuity: With Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady, Shredder plans to once and for
all eliminate the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles who consistently thwart his evil plans to rule the world.
In New Cartoon Coninuity: With Baxter Stockman and Hun, Shredder runs the Foot Clan. He plans to eliminate the Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles and his enemies, the Utroms. Shredder was beheaded in Season 1, Episode 23, but is likely not dead because
he walked away from the battle carrying his head in his arms after the Turtles returned to the sewers.
In the Mirage Comics Continuity: Shredder is the head of the New York Foot Clan, which is an offshoot of the Japan Foot
Clan. Shredder first met with the Turtles after the Turtles challenged him to fight because of what the Shredder did to Hamato
Yoshi in Vol. 1 #1 of the Mirage comic books. In this fight, Shredder was defeated by Leonardo, who impaled him with his katana.
After this, the Foot Clan, cloned several versions of the Shredder, that the Turtles first meet in Leonardo #1 of the Mirage
comic books, and that the Turtles defeated in Vol. 1 #20-21 of the Mirage comic books. After the time, the New York Foot Clan
became a bit anarchistic until Karai of the Japanese Foot Clan took over during the "City at War" storyline of Vol.
1 #50-62 of the Mirage comic books. Karai heads the New York Foot Clan until this day.
